Ornithorhynchus anatinus ( The Platypus)

This egg-laying, duck-billed, beaver tailed, venomous semi-aquatic mammal is possibly the strangest animal discovered. The Platypus lives along the east coast of Australia with the other four species of Echidna.

Both male and female have ankle spurs but, only the males spur can deliver a toxic venom. Making this strange creature the most poisonous mammal.

The platypuses duck-bill has a sensory gland with the mouth on the underside, unlike the beak of a bird where both upper and lower beak open to reveal a mouth.

There fur is rather dense and is water proof and textured similar to a mole.

The beaver like tail is used as storage for fat stores.

Its rather fitting that that i got this as my animal. I like what i like and not following the crowd, embracing what works, and sticking to an idea even if its slightly bizarre. A lot like the evolution of this creature.
